Understanding the Difference

Allure de la Beaute London can offer clients - Virgin Russian Hair Extensions which is highly popular in the industry. The silky, smooth hair has not been chemically treated and is in its pure virgin state which can be adapted to suit individual needs and preferences. Sourced from Russia, the hair comes in natural colours and is either straight naturally wavy. If Russian Hair is your preferred option, you can discuss this in your consultation with our team.

Virgin hair indicates that the hair hasn't been colored or processed in any way. The "virgin hair" is collected by tying off the hair to maintain the direction of the cuticle and then cut. After the hair is cut and collected it can be sewn on a weft, pre-bonded, made into wigs or left in bulk form.

Remy is a term used when all of the hair is human plus when 'close to' all of the strands (e.g. in one weft) are strictly organised with the roots in one direction and the tip to the opposite end. Remy hair in general last much longer than non-remi and tends to stay shiny and "tangle free" longer. This is based on the fact that every strand of hair is biologically keratinized skin cells organized in layers overlapping one another.

Double drawn indicates that the collected hair of a certain length has all of the shorter hairs in the bundle manually removed twice, hence the 'double' drawn. This means that hair extensions that are double drawn will have (nearly) as many hair strands at one end as the other and appear much thicker and not wispy at the ends. This process is very laborious, and therefore makes the extensions very expensive.

European- From Virgin Source Hair

This is the most popular choice in quality human hair as it is soft, has a natural feel and broad colour range. This hair will dry with a natural wave. All the hair is pre-dyed to match a colour chart from which we can match a client's hair.

Virgin Russian Hair

This is the most exclusive rare type of hair as it has not been dyed or chemically treated in any way. The colour range is limited and may have to be dyed to match individual client's requirements. It is highly sought after and as a result more expensive than our European Hair.

Hair Standards

We do not use Chinese hair as although being the most common type of hair in the industry .The it's processed in large quantities and cheap to buy. However, as this hair is often very thick and coarse. In order to reduce the thickness and give it a softer and finer texture many hair sources use chemical processing to strip the cuticle layer destroying the original cuticle layer, leaving the hair over processed and damaged. It is then smoothed with a silicone layer to appear healthy. In the beginning the hair is soft but after a few washes will lose its appearance and begin to tangle. It is for this fundamental reason with a great regard for our clients “Allure de la Beaute” only use the finest quality European, Russian & Remy Hair all from Virgin Source.
